Are you ready to re-enter the mines in Nailed It Games’ second outing for the Gold Mine Stacks slot series? If you’re thinking about another Link&Win style game, you’ll be in for a pleasant surprise thanks to the unique features found in this game. To find out what’s to be discovered down the mines, read the full review below.
Winter has arrived and the Gold Mine Stacks 2 landscape is covered in snow and ice, but that won’t prevent a gold-fueled mission deep underground. Unlike other mine-themed games, Gold Mine Stacks 2 brings the light thanks to the iced-over 5x3 grid, which is a great change-up. As you would imagine, the tiles in this game consist of several colored gems, carts full of gold, and bonus coins. Alongside themed tiles, there is a series of letters to fill out the board.
This game can be enjoyed on any device for only $0.20/spin (up to $20/spin). The hit frequency is an impressive 44.71%, but the high volatility of the game will make those high bonuses a bit more challenging to win. However, with a 96.15% RTP, this game strikes a fine balance.
There are many ways to steal gold from this game. At the lower end, you need to match five of the same letter tiles, which will double your initial bet. At the higher end, you can match at least five of the same-colored gems to unleash between 8x-20x bet. Moreover, matching the other symbols will activate additional bonus features, which are outlined below.
Wild symbols are denoted by stacks of gold with “WILD” written across them, and they’re used to increase the chance of landing winning sets. There are also Scatter symbols, which need to be matched to activate the Gold Mine Stacks Bonus. If you successfully stack WILD symbols, the respin feature is triggered, which will continue until you’ve run out of stacks.
Once you activate the bonus game, you’ll get to have a spin of the Randomizer, which picks a prize to increase by x20. If your spin lands on “Safe”, the Super bonus is activated, and all prizes are multiplied by 20. Additionally, you will need to decide if you’re going to stake the bonus for a higher reward potential. If it pays off, you’ll gain a life (extra 3 spins).
To start the turn, you receive 3x spins, which reset when a new symbol appears. To progress through all 16 levels, you must land three coins in the same reel on each spin. The higher your level, the more value you receive from the coins. The bonus round continues until the respin counter hits zero.
As sequels go, Gold Mine Stacks 2 does extremely well at elevating the experience, so hats off to Nailed It! Games. Being a young studio, they have eyes to breathe fresh air into the industry, which shows in the theming and unique bonus features.
